This video is presented in a visual essay format. This work hosts most of the research and information about the project, and serves as the main contextual work.

The video takes the viewer through my own digital archive. I reflect on those who are captured within it, as well as focusing on previous versions of my self living amongst my photos and videos. I allow myself to travel back to these photos through my memory of sand, and being back home, transporting myself back into the moments of capture.

The video also functions as the main explanation of the crystal quartz (silica) found within sand. I describe its process of extraction, refinement and then eventual use in microchips and semiconductor chips, which are then embedded into our electronic devices.
